Fire Investigator and Wildland Investigator

Kirk has over 35 years of experience in the fire services, with 23 of those years as a fire investigator. He has been involved in over 1,500 fire investigations involving structures, vehicles, and wildland fires. He is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators. Mr. Schmitt has also been accepted as a qualified expert in court for structure and wildland fire origin and cause determination and in wildland suppression tactics in District, State, and Federal courts.
