Don retired from the West Metro Fire Authority in 1994 where he served as the Assistant Fire Chief overseeing Fire Fighting Operations and Fire Investigations. Don was the co-founder of Phoenix Investigations and Engineering which operated from 1981 until 2012. Phoenix Investigations sold to Unified Investigations/EFI in 2012. After the sale of Phoenix Investigations, Don became the Western Regional VP at Unified/EFI until he retired in July of 2020. Don is an IAAI CFI for 40 plus years and has conducted over 2000 fire investigations and supervised the investigations of investigators at West Metro, Phoenix, and UIS/EFI. Don has qualified as an expert in fire investigations and evidence handling in State and Federal Courts in California, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and New Mexico.
